What Is WaterISAC

WaterISAC is a private, not-for-profit organization authorized by Congress and established by utilities with the fundamental purpose of providing information necessary to secure water systems and ensure continuous utility operations in the face of all hazards.  As the only centralized, real-time information resource of its kind, WaterISAC serves to support public, facility and environmental safety to respond to domestic and international threats, incidents, and natural disasters.


Authorized by Congress, WaterISAC was established in support of Presidential Decision Directive 63, Executive Order 13231, and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7. WaterISAC represents an active partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Homeland Security to best assist the drinking water and wastewater sectors.  WaterISAC proudly serves thousands water and wastewater professionals. It is overseen by a Board of Managers comprised of drinking water and wastewater utility executives.
