About Us
The Water Security Channel (WaterSC) · a service of the Water
Information Sharing and Analysis Center (WaterISAC) · electronically
disseminates bulletins and advisories issued by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The WaterSC also maintains a password-protected Internet library of federal
advisories. The WaterSC is a partnership between the water sector and the
federal government and is funded by a grant from the U.S. EPA. All drinking
water and wastewater utilities are encouraged to participate in this free
federal advisory service.
The WaterISAC is designed for those in the water sector
who want to access the WaterISAC's ultra-secure knowledge
base or receive alerts and advisories both from the federal
government and a number of non-federal intelligence sources
as well. In addition to federal advisories, the WaterISAC's
expansive web site contains a wealth of other information: four
contaminant databases, white papers on various water security topics,
access to vulnerability assessment tools, a bulletin board for secure
communication among subscribers and many other items that are not
available elsewhere or that would require substantial research.
Subscribing to the WaterISAC requires a nominal fee.
The differences between WaterSC and WaterISAC are illustrated in this
